RRC Awards

Residential Real Estate Council Awards

The Council distributes awards each year to members and State RRCs that make outstanding contributions to the Council, their CRS Designee peers and the real estate industry.

Education Contributor of the Year Award

The Education Contributor of the Year Award recognizes those individuals who have provided significant contributions to RRC in the education of professionals in the field of residential real estate.

Eligibility Criteria:

Provided educational contribution in the last twelve months. Examples of Educational contributions include:

  • Serving as a speaker, content contributor or reviewer to educational offerings (Examples include: course development, microlearning, checklists/guides, etc.)
  • Serving as a subject matter expert or contributing content to The Residential Specialist
  • Individual must not have received compensation for their contribution

Selection Process:

The recommendation will take into consideration the level of contribution, quality of contribution, time devoted and degree to which the individual serves as a champion for education and lifelong learning. The Board of Directors reserves the right to not present an award an annual basis.

Nomination Process:

A list of eligible individuals along with recommendations will be provided by the education department to the Board of Directors.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is given to an individual for their outstanding and sustained contributions to the Council and residential real estate industry. To be honored with this prestigious award, the nominee must have demonstrated the qualities of an outstanding leader serving in a volunteer or business capacity that had a long-lasting impact on the Council or the residential real estate industry in general. The award will be presented during Inaugural in November. Recipients will receive lifetime membership with the Council.

Eligibility Criteria:

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Demonstrated at least 15 years of service to the Residential Real Estate Council
  • Made a positive impact to the Residential Real Estate Council
  • Significant contribution to the real estate industry

Selection Process:

The Awards Committee reviews all applications and supporting materials and presents recommendations to the RRC Board of Directors for final approval. Only one individual will be awarded this award. However, the Committee reserves the right not to recommend any candidates for the award if nominated candidates do not meet the criteria.

Factors to be considered in selecting an individual include:

  • Service at the State/Region level, national level including officer, RRC Board of Directors, Regional Vice President, committee/mastermind division, task force, workgroup, or PAG involvement
  • Instructor, presenter or speaker at a Council event, webinar and/or course 
  • Serving as a subject matter expert or contributing content to educational offerings or The Residential Specialist
  • Individuals that are the embodiment of the energy and spirit of the Council
  • Individuals recognized as a positive force in the real estate industry.
  • Individuals serving on a national/federal real estate advisory committee, think tank group, or industry strategy setting body.

Nomination Process:

Any Council member may nominate a candidate for the award by submitting an application. 

  • Applications will include a statement of achievements and contributions to the Council.
  • Up to 3 letters of recommendation demonstrating the nominee’s work and contributions

In the case of an individual who has been nominated posthumously, the person nominating would submit the application and letters of reference on their behalf. 

 

Nominations for 2025 can be submitted through September 5th.

Wendell Wong Scholarship Award

The Wendell Wong Sell-a-bration Scholarship Award is awarded to one member who is actively pursuing the CRS Designation. Wendell Wong was a dedicated and spirited leader who was a champion for education and a positive force for the Council.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a member of RRC

Must be pursuing the CRS Designation

Selection Process:

Awarded to randomly selected Sell-a-bration attendee who is pursuing the CRS Designation

Individuals cannot receive the Scholarship Award more than once.
